I tried to take a research about that. Most dramas being viewed here in PH are the recent dramas from Korea. Of course, they want to show the Filipino viewers “the latest”. But as a matter of fact, there are old but really awesome dramas that are just being neglected. (Yi San) or Lee San, Wind of the Palace is one of them.
|(Yi San) Lee San, Wind of the Palace Korean Drama 2012 on GMA Philippines|
Based on d-addicts.com,
This drama details the life of King Jeongjo, Joseon’s 22nd monarch, who is remembered in Korean history as one of Korea’s greatest kings, one who loved the people and reigned for the commoner.
Thanks to GMA network, the Kapuso Network for bringing us here Yi San this year 2012. In south korea, it was produced by MBC and has 77 total episodes. (That’s kinda long!) It took over 9 months to finish all of those, from September 17, 2007 to June 16, 2008. This one was also a high-rated and most-watched k-drama on its time.
Lee San, Wind of the Palace cast includes Lee Seo Jin (On Air, Soul, Gye Baek) as Yi San / King Jeongjo, Han Ji Min (Capital Scandal, Cain and Abel) as Sung Song Yeon, Park Eun Hye (The Person I Love, Detective Mr. Lee, Pink Lipstick) as Queen Hyo Eui and Lee Jong Soo (Fight, Call of the Country, King Geunchogo) as Park Dae Su. Those actors and actresses are award winning! It has been nominated and had won several acting award.
