2012 is a nice year for all Filipinos waiting for Tagalog dubbed South Korean drama on Philippine television. It was because I noticed that the two big TV Networks here will be broadcasting some of the best k-dramas (IMHO) on their respective channels.
I have created some dedicated article for all Korean drama series that will be shown on GMA 7 Kapuso Network. Some of my favorite are Iris, Lie to Me, The Greatest Love and Smile, Dong Hae. You better watch out for them because they are really nice!
But as I said above, there are “two TV Network giants” competing for ratings, of course the other one was ABS-CBN 2. ABS-CBN is also popular for their high-rated dramas from South Korea such as Princess Hours, Boys Over Flowers, He’s Beautiful, Lovers in Paris, My GF is a Gumiho and many more!
This 2012 they have prepared some of the best again. Here are some of those. I also included some information about each drama so you’ll have some ideas of their whatabouts.
1. A Thousand Days' Promise –

Dream High Korea drama tells the story of six students who work hard to achieve their dream of becoming Korean music industry stars. Through the training, they overcome their strengths and weakness. Suzy (of miss A), Kim Soo-Hyun, Taecyeon (of 2PM), Ham Eun Jung (of T-ara), IU and Wooyoung (from 2PM) are the main stars in Dream High.
3. Protect the Boss –

Defend the Boss has 18 episodes, not like other dramas with just 16. Choi Gang-Hee and Ji Sung stars on this series so if you’re a fan of them, I think this drama can work for you. Note: It was preceded by City Hunter.
4. Sungkyunkwan Scandal –

The Sungkyunkwan Scandal Korean drama by KBS (Korean Broadcasting System) was broadcasted in South Korea last August 30, 2010 to November 2, 2010. After its airing, it was followed by Mary Me, Mary!, a drama which was also shown here in the Philippines.
Sunkyunkwan Scandal is the story of a girl (Park Min Young as Kim Yoon Hee) who enters the school under the name of his brother who is severly ill. She disguised as a boy to enter the school just to support him. There, she met friends and “you can just watch the show to see what happened next”. Lol!
5. Can't Lose –

In our list here, Can’t Lose will be the only K-drama to be produced by MBC (Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation). It was aired last August to October 2011 and apart from how we know Choi Ji Woo, Can’t Lose drama is a romantic comedy one. (You know, we know her for pure drama that really squeezed our eyes to tears!)
This time, it’s about two lawyers who fell in love at the first sight. Both have different goals.
6. Love Rides the Rain (Love Rain) –

KBS will be producing Love Rain. It is planned to be broadcasted from March 26, 2012 to May 29, 2012. Oh yeah, this one is an upcoming drama in Korea! And you will be surprised to know that it has been scheduled to be shown here in the Philippines (by ABS-CBN of course) in the same year! That was awesome! ABS-CBN contracted this KBS’ drama so early. That was really awesome!
I think Love Rain will be a successful drama. Why? Because people like the actor and actress here. Well, they are just Jang Geun Suk (Beethoven Virus, Mary Stayed Out All Night, You’re Beautiful) and Im Yoona of SNSD (Girl’s Generation). That's cool!
So once again, those are Korean dramas you can wait to see on Philippine television through ABS-CBN 2 this 2012. We are hoping that the Filipino will appreciate them. If you have something to tell, you can post it using the comment form below.

2012 ABS-CBN Korean Dramas in the Philippines
2012 is a nice year for all Filipinos waiting for Tagalog dubbed South Korean drama on Philippine television. It was because I noticed that the two big TV Networks here will be broadcasting some of the best k-dramas (IMHO) on their respective channels.
I have created some dedicated article for all Korean drama series that will be shown on GMA 7 Kapuso Network. Some of my favorite are Iris, Lie to Me, The Greatest Love and Smile, Dong Hae. You better watch out for them because they are really nice!

This 2012 they have prepared some of the best again. Here are some of those. I also included some information about each drama so you’ll have some ideas of their whatabouts.
1. A Thousand Days' Promise –
This drama is a story of a woman who is losing her memory or what we call “Amnesia”. And then here is a man who comes unconditionally loving her. The drama was produced by SBS (Seoul Broadcasting System) in South Korea and it stars Soo-Ae as Lee Seo-Yeon with Kim Rae-Won as Park Ji-Hyung. Kim Rae-Won has made some good dramas like Gourmet, Love Story in Harvard and Cat on the Roof. It was aired last October 17, 2011 to December 20, 2011.
2. Dream High –
Very popular among teenager, Dream High received a very high ratings from viewers! As a matter of fact, due to its popularity, a Dream High Special Concert was made and one last thing, a second season for Dream High was announced by SBS (again)! How cool was that?
Dream High Korea drama tells the story of six students who work hard to achieve their dream of becoming Korean music industry stars. Through the training, they overcome their strengths and weakness. Suzy (of miss A), Kim Soo-Hyun, Taecyeon (of 2PM), Ham Eun Jung (of T-ara), IU and Wooyoung (from 2PM) are the main stars in Dream High.
3. Protect the Boss –
The Boss Has Changed, as formerly known, is a drama about a woman who is struggling to find a career who became a secretary of her boss (who she later falls in love with). OMG, this is the third one from SBS! It seems that ABS-CBN’s favorite was SBS this time.
If you can’t wait for the City Hunter on January 23, you should also crave for this drama! Lee Min Ho stars on City Hunter and now here in Sungkyunkwan Scandal, his leading lady – Park Min Young, will be the main protagonist. Park Yoo Chun, Song Joong-Ki and Yoo Ah In are also included in the ensemble cast.

5. Can't Lose –
Choi Ji Woo fans! Here comes another drama starring her. She became popular here in the Philippines after local TV networks broadcast some of her dramas like Stairway to Heaven and Winter Sonata. Many are touched with her acting.
In our list here, Can’t Lose will be the only K-drama to be produced by MBC (Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation). It was aired last August to October 2011 and apart from how we know Choi Ji Woo, Can’t Lose drama is a romantic comedy one. 6. Love Rides the Rain (Love Rain) –
I began to be curious about this drama. No one ever watch this but after reading its synopsis, I thought of a related story about this. Do you know “The Classic” movie? It’s a Korean movie which stars Son Ye Jin. (You can just make a research on both of these to see why did I came to a conclusion that they are somehow related to each other.)
KBS will be producing Love Rain. It is planned to be broadcasted from March 26, 2012 to May 29, 2012. Oh yeah, this one is an upcoming drama in Korea!
