Here we go again in my trying-hard, food-blogging mode. And today's topic is the Spanish-style sardines which is usually placed at glass jars and being sold on your nearest supermarkets. They comes in different oils such as Corn oil or Olive oil which makes is taste imported. Hehehe! Fellow Filipinos, have you tried it? If so, did you enjoy eating those? Check the Spanish-style sardines photo below:

Spanish-style Sardines in Olive Oil
Here in the Philippines, sardines is a kind of fish that we are very familiar with. It is because it became a common food-in-can by those families with tight budget. (You know, for less than Php20.00 here, you can enjoy sardines in tomato sauce from the nearest sari-sari store. And there are different brands to choose from. Some of the famous sardines are Ligo, Master and Mega). I still remember when were still children, we buy two cans of it and my mother will add some vegetables like cabbage, potato or papaya to make it healthier. LOL!

But this type of sardines is different from the common ones with tomato sauce. Spanish-style sardines has olive oil or corn oil in it rather than tomato. And its taste is just so awesome! You can also look for the spicy version of each. Of course, different manufacturers have their own mix and secret spices but I sure that all of them are tasty. I watched a TV show that featured this delicacy and learned that most of them are "home-made"!

Spanish-style sardines are great for picnics since you can replace your bread spread with a delicious sardine. According to some sources, it is a very good match with rice on your every meal. Whether it is your breakfast or lunch or even dinner, Spanish-style sardines will be well fitted into it, if you're a sardine lover.

So, what is the best Spanish-style sardine in the world? Oh sorry, I mean the best here in Philippines! Based on my observation and research, the following brands are mostly recommended by others: Rose Bowl, San Sebastian, Marisco, Angelina, Dona Elena, Montano, Masagana, Pacific Isles, CDO, Tita Rosa, Mega, Tito Mike's, Family's Brand or Bonus (by SM Supermarket) and many more! Buy one of them or all of them, taste it and tell us which is the best. Thanks!
