I can’t believe that my current phone was the cheapest of all Samsung Android smartphone. Yes it is, the Samsung Galaxy 5 I5503. But it’s OK. I’m happy with it because my phone can still provide the functions I really need. By the way, here are some of its specifications:
|Samsung Galaxy 5 I5503 Philippines|
- Android 2.1 (Eclair) OS
- Samsung Social Hub
- 2-megapixel camera
- Video and music players as well as an FM tuner and a 3.5mm audio jack
- 2.8-inch capacitive touch screen
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, and 3G
- A-GPS functionality
- TouchWiz 3.0 UI
- 170MB internal memory
- microSD card slot (2GB card included)
Samsung Galaxy 5 cost around P8,900.00 today. (It was still P11,900.00 in the market when I first put my hands into it.) I am not saying that this phone is the cheapest among all Android phones here in the Philippines. Remember that Torque and Cherry Mobile are also providing Filipinos with Android-OS powered mobile phones. And some of their units have dual-SIM capabilities. Cool!
After Samsung Galaxy 5, which smartphone will be the next cheapest? I guess it would be the Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 because it is worth P9,900 as of June 2011. What do you think?
