Driving a public vehicle here in the Philippines requires you to have a professional license. As far as I know, non-professional driver's license can be used for private vehicles only. That was a law of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in the Philippines. So what are the New Professional driver's License Qualifications, Requirements and Fees?
Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years old
- Must be physically and mentally fit to operate a motor vehicle
- Must not be a drug user or an alcoholic
- Must not be afflicted with any contagious disease or epilepsy
- Must be able to read and write in Filipino or English
- Must be clean, neat and presentable
- Duly accomplished Application Form for Driver’s License (ADL)
- Valid Student Permit (at least 5 months old or four months old Non Prof License)
- Medical Certificate with Official Receipt from LTO accredited or Government physician)
- Negative drug test result from a DOG accredited drug testing center or Government hospital
- Taxpayer’s Identification Number (TIN)
- Clearances. Any of the following:
- NBI Clearance
- Police Clearance
- Court Clearance
- NBI Clearance
- Must have passed the LTO conducted written and practical examinations.
- Prepare P585.26 when paying at the LTO office.
